Brian J. Petruska
About
Brian is a labor attorney with over twenty years of experience. His practice focuses on litigation, including union organizing, grievance representation, collective bargaining, collections, and civil defense for his union clients. Brian has litigated numerous cases that have led to reported decisions by federal circuit courts and the NLRB, including litigation that has directly contributed to the NLRB’s adoption of the Cemex doctrine in Cemex Construction Materials Pacific, LLC, 372 NLRB No. 130 (2023).
Brian graduated from NYU Law in 2002. He clerked for the Honorable Judge Charles W. Pickering of the Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals and for the Honorable Judge Virginia Emerson Hopkins of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.
Brian was the General Counsel of the LIUNA Mid-Atlantic Regional Organizing Coalition from 2010 to 2025. Prior to that he was an associate with the law firms of Slevin & Hart, P.C. and Vladeck, Waldman, Elias, & Engelhard, PC.
