About

Lori Waichman is a Member of the employee benefit practice at Mooney, Green, Saindon, Murphy and Welch.  Ms. Waichman represents benefit plans, including multiemployer defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans, multiemployer health & welfare plans, union staff plans, and voluntary employees’ beneficiary associations.

Ms. Waichman provides guidance on various aspects of plan design and compliance, including maintaining and updating plan documents with respect to legislative and regulatory changes; navigating agency investigations; performing all stages of collections including pre-litigation, litigation, and post- judgment enforcement; ensuring recovery in subrogation matters, including personal injury and workers’ compensation claims; advising boards of trustees with respect to fiduciary duties and liabilities; and more.  Ms. Waichman works with unions in a variety of industries as well as the National Coordinating Committee for Multiemployer Plan on a variety of legislative and regulatory issues impacting multiemployer plans.  Ms. Waichman additionally serves as a member, and prior co-chair, of the D.C. Bar Foundation’s Young Lawyers’ Network Leadership Council.

Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Waichman served as a law clerk at a labor and benefits firm in New York City as well as a legal fellow at the AARP Foundation where she focused on impact litigation in the employment and employee benefit sphere.

Ms. Waichman earned her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she served as a Notes Editor for the International Comparative, Policy & Ethics Law Review, and a Public Service Scholar. She earned her B.A. with honors from Lafayette College with a double major in Government & Law and American Studies with a Concentration in Social Justice, and a minor in Women & Gender Studies.
