Jason Arendt
About
Jason Arendt primarily represents multiemployer employee benefit plans. Mr. Arendt advises trustees on ERISA compliance and pursues delinquent employers in collections actions for pension funds and other employee benefit plans.
Mr. Arendt earned his J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law in 2021. While at American University, Mr. Arendt was a Note and Comment Editor on the Business Law Review and was the Chair of the Student Elections Commission. Mr. Arendt interned at the Department of Labor Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs for the Executive Director and the U.S. AbilityOne Commission in their General Counsel’s office.
Prior to his time at Mooney Green, Mr. Arendt was a Senior Investigator at the Department of Labor Employee Benefit Security Administration (EBSA). While at the EBSA, Mr. Arendt investigated defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans, health and welfare plans, and assisted in the prosecution of violations of ERISA and related statutes. Mr. Arendt has led intergovernmental trainings on ERISA compliance and the Service Contract Act requirements under ERISA.
Mr. Arendt obtained a B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2018, majoring in Information Systems and Information Technology in the Gies College of Business with a minor in political science. Mr. Arendt’s Authorization of Discovery in International Commercial Arbitration: Demystifying the Sixth’s Circuit Statutory Construction of 28 U.S.C. § 1782(a) has been published in the American University Business Law Review.
