Mooney Green proudly serves as the general counsel to the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF). As general counsel, we support the IAFF’s mission throughout the United States and Canada promoting a safe and healthy working environment, improving working conditions and securing just compensation and benefits, and protecting and enforcing legal rights for fire fighters and emergency medical and rescue service workers.
Mooney Green also represents individual fire fighters, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) in an array of legal matters. Specifically, Mooney Green represents union leaders who have been discriminated or retaliated against for engaging in protected activity, such as free speech, petitioning government, exercising their right to associate, or engaging in union activity. In addition, Mooney Green ensures that fire fighters and other workers or properly paid all overtime wages that they are entitled to receive by enforcing the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage and hour laws through individual and collective actions. Mooney Green also assists local IAFF unions in collective bargaining, grievance arbitrations, and combatting attacks on fire fighter wages and benefits.
